Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) of elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1/4 cup (30g) of all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (500ml) of milk
- 2 cups (200g) of shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
4. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes or until the mixture is thick and bubbly.
5. Reduce the heat to low and add in the cheese, stirring until melted and fully combined.
6. Add the macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine.
7. Pour the macaroni and cheese into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
